DOR Rehabilitation Resources
The Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) provides services and advocacy resulting in employment, independent living and equality for individuals with disabilities. The DOR services are delivered through Community Rehabilitation Programs (CRPs) located throughout the state, who get the required certifications from the Community Resources Development unit (CRD) to provide the services and receive certain “fee-for-service” for the services.
This project was initiated to simplify the accessibility of CRP vendor information to DOR consumers by enabling an online Rehabilitation Resources Directory. Towards this goal, the project involves creating a consumer self-service application and website which allows consumers to search and locate CRPs within their communities/geographic areas in the state of California. The application also provides a secure administrative interface for the DOR staff and vendors to edit and manage the vendor information, ensuring that the consumers always get the most up-to-date information. In addition, the system provides comprehensive business intelligence reporting for the DOR staff and managers.
Through a competitive bidding process, the DOR selected SymSoft to provide design, development and implementation services for the website and web-based application.
